Ate in the tavern. Please note that not everything in the dining room menu is available in the tavern.
The service in the tavern was AMAZING! At least 8 people worked our table. This may be due to the no-tip policy. It made for a magnificent experience.
If you look at the prices on their web-site, this is worth keeping in mind. -

I had a lovely dinner experience with friends at Gramercy Tavern. The food is fresh and delicious, quite reminiscent of the food-to-table restaurants of Greece and France.
Our table went for the three course meal and it was as if the food was prepared for the gods! The tomatoes were just right and the chicken spoke to my soul with its flavor and tenderness.
The service provided by our waitress and our sommelier was charming and kind. They made us feel as if they were old friends and I recommend you dine here for this reason alone! -

Came here for my birthday lunch. First of all, service is 5/5. The waiters are so observant and welcoming, they ensured that the entire meal went smoothly and were attentive, refilling waters and asking us if we wanted more bread without us even asking.
The bread, as raves about in many previous reviews, is delicious!!! I think it is whole grain or some kind of grain, and it is perfectly buttery without being over buttery and it just comes off in sheets. The outside is firm but not crunchy and the inside and so fluffy. It is paired with a goat cheese spread which is so light and just delicious!!!
My friend and I got the tasting menu for lunch, which is an affordable option to get a sense of the wide variety of seasonal foods they can provide. The scallops were so fresh and light. The tilefish was just okay to me, didn't really stand out. Neither did the tagliarini, which seemed quite salty to me. The duck breast was delicious!!! After the four courses, I wasn't overstuffed, as the portions were actually quite light, so I was excited for dessert.
They so kindly allowed me to switch out the strawberries dessert for the cookies and milk so my friend and I could share. Also for dessert they brought out complimentary chocolate and gummy candies as well as a birthday coconut cake for me. There were so many desserts on the table, it was an entire meal in it of itself. Everything was so delicious. I loved my friends strawberries dessert with whipped cheesecake, and the cookies all were so fun to taste. Their milk also is so refreshing has a hint of another flavor (vanilla?). We couldn't finish everything and I wish I could eat more of the coconut cake because that was also so good but also quite sweet.
I gave it 4/5 stars because two of the tasting menu dishes didn't quite impress me. I wish I could have tried their burger, but I guess I'll have to come back again to do so!!! Can't wait to see them again :) -

Always perfect, the redefinition of five stars. Yelp should have a five stars plus reserved for fine dining.
Stopped into the dining room for lunch today. Had four fantastic entrees. I would have been just as happy in the tavern. We were initially a two top, but picked up two more this morning. Rez change was accommodated, we just had to arrive 15 minutes earlier. All done through OpenTable.
We had monkfish, the crispy chicken, and snuck in a stir fry for our vegetarian friend from the tavern menu.
Amazing to appreciate the flavor profiles, knife skills, and team of servers.
I haven't been to GT in a while, I like they went to the "gratuity included" model. Take the work out of the guests and just tell us what things cost.
Bread service and rugelach at check presentation time were a really nice touch. Rugelach was incredible.
We had to be out speedy given it was a business lunch, and they made it happen! We forwent apps and dessert, which might be a sin, and there is always next time. We ended up having cold brew lattes and "dough" donuts back at the office with the rest of the team.
